What makes us different
Knowledge built over decades
We've spent many years working with gas and heating in customers' homes. That experience helps us spot issues early and guide you to the right fix.
Qualifications that back up the work
We hold Gas Safe registration, and Dan is also a Worcester Accredited Installer. You know we handle the work with recognised training behind us.

A family-run business you can trust
At Wight Hot, we’re proud to be a family-run business built on experience, trust and a genuine passion for keeping homes safe, warm and comfortable. For us, it’s not just about fixing a boiler, installing a heating system, carrying out power flushing or completing a Legionella risk assessment. It’s about looking after our customers and providing a service we’d be proud to recommend to our family.

Meet Dan
Dan is the heart of Wight Hot and one of the friendly faces you’ll often see arriving at your doorstep. With over 25 years of experience as a qualified gas engineer, Dan has spent his career gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of gas and heating, with a particular focus on keeping homes safe, efficient and warm. Dan began his career at the British Gas Academy, where he developed the foundations of his trade. After years of experience in the industry, he took the leap and founded Wight Hot 13 years ago.
Today, Dan continues to bring that same knowledge and hands-on approach to every job, whether it’s a straightforward repair, a new heating installation or helping customers find the right solution for their home. Dan holds his Gas Safe registration and, over the last few years, has also become a Worcester Accredited Installer (WAI), further strengthening the expertise and quality of service we can offer to our customers.

Meet Max
Keeping things in the family, Dan’s eldest son, Max, has recently joined Wight Hot as our gas apprentice. Max is currently undertaking a three-year gas qualification at a training academy in Portsmouth, gaining valuable knowledge and practical experience along the way. Working alongside Dan gives him the opportunity to learn from more than 25 years of hands-on experience while developing his own skills and building a career in the heating industry. It’s something we’re particularly proud of — seeing the next generation become part of the family business and helping to carry Wight Hot forward for many years to come.
Life outside of the job
When Dan and Max aren’t working, they often dive into another shared passion – project cars. Whether they’re working on cars together or simply spending time with the rest of the family, the family is at the centre of everything we do.
That family approach is something we also bring into our business. We believe in doing a good job, treating people with respect and making sure our customers feel confident that their home is in safe hands.
